It's not often I see good expression in a horse without dorky spirit style eyebrows. >< So this is refreshing to me. XD
The tail, head, and neck are my favorite parts. ^_^

why thankyou. Im glad i was too old to adopt the spirit styel when it was made, by then i had my own style and i always have glad someone likes it, its true DA could do with a shitload less TLK and Spirit abominations and more people trying to stick truw to their own interperetations of the animals.

Indeed, I tried to do spirit style for a little bit, but I couldn't adopt the eyebrows... Or the hoof style. Tried all sorts of drawing books too. I managed to walk away with a new way of drawing muzzles.(because mine really sucked. .__. ) XP

I really like to see the expression through posture and movement, it's art like this that has it that makes me miss it.... But then I just stare at it for 5 minutes and feel better. XD
Spirit style and the sudden outbreak of it seems to have put a dent in the way's of styles. Like those quirks in drawings where you could tell the artist liked them a certain way... I had a giant hoof problem, and a few others; still do. XD

yea for a long time i was drawing horses(well... unicrons mostly) with really thick legs, but that was after ide seen the dancing Fresians and lippizaners and taken some sketch notes and tended to do most horses like those. I still have some trouble with arab faces X3 and the thickness of legs lol. But im nearly at the zenith, my anatomy is almost there, but still i cant draw them with photographic realism. I know which bits i need to fix im just oo lazy to go do some ref work to fix them Of course i can tell if someone has stolen my lineart at any one time because i know my style instantly when i see it.

The other thing that really pisses me off though, other than the overuse of spirit lineart, is people who trace over a photo in photoshop to make stacks of horse lineart and act like they drew it freehand when you can obviously tell they didn't DDD: and i hate people who fawn over these people like they're gods gift just cause they trace a buttload of horse photos. :C

Yeah, tracers make me mad. I'll admit, I trace here and there when I'm sucking at something so bad It's like death, but I can't bring myself to trace the whole horse. DX Maybe a leg or I'll mix and match body parts I can't do, stare at a picture and try to replicate it exactly but at least I say when I trace. o_O I couldn't do some of my gallop animations on my own at all. >_<
I still have to sort out long legs, tiny heads, and some funky joins in certain positions when it comes to drawing. So hard. D8
I can;t do realism though, but I figured a few months back that enough people can do that so I'll stick with my own style and just keep learning how to make my shades and highlights look less retarded. :3
