LOL yes. And it was growing late, so Ara decided it was best to take Neo directly to her own mark. The going was slower than usual due to her injured wrist, but it gave her ample time to both explain to neo what had happened to her side of the family and for him to tell her where he came from. He was touchy on the subject of his parents, obviously still distraught by their unexplained vanishing. So as far as either of them knew, they were now the last two of the sunpride, yet ara found contentment in this, because two was better than one.
When they arrived at the south mark, it was quite late and dusk had set in. An anxiouse Zer0, who had been pacing under the cherry blossom, was first to hear their approach. He loped over to ara, noting her slacked gait and injured foreleg. Her face was quite calm and she smiled warmly at his welcome. They nuzzled, and it was only as they broke apart and something else caught Zer0's eye that he noticed the cub that had been trailing close to Ara's tail. He was so dark he had blunded perfectly with the forest and light slender tree trunks.
"why hello there, who's this?"
Ara smiled. Zer0 suddenly saw the sunmark on the cubs shoulder and his eyes widened in astonishment.
"don't tell me hes one of ours and youve been hiding him from me or something?" Zer0 said bewildered. Ara laughed.
"No, i dont think he'd have fitted in there with the twins, id've had a belly as big as auroras in that case."
Neo's ears pricked up in curiosity "twins?" he brethed softly
Ara turned to him grinning, "oh yes, i forgot to tell you that...you have twins cousins"
The two had heard their parents talking about them in fact and their faces were visible peeking around the corner of their den opening.
"Cousin?" Zer0 enquired curiously "so he's a relative? But i thought your family was...well..."
"So did i" confessed ara as the twins trotted over to greet their new relation.
