Well, here you are.

This is the product of a Jewellery assignment called 'unit'.
It was quite a challenge because it required us to make stupid collages of random things fitting together in different way to represent ideas of crap like dissintergration, growth, anthropomorphic, or something of our own choosing. It had to be repetition of the unit, which had to be outside the usual conventional chain link.
I went with Horse movement after going through a few ideas.
The idea to use flat sheet and that particular fold design is a throwback to an old Design tech project in which i made paper boardgame pieces of horses like that.

The design for the links is my own, as is the horses themselves, each one hand drawn, hand cut and pretty much hand folded with the right sets of pliers (except the silver one, because it needed the small sheet metal folder, which is hand operated anyway)

Materials:
0.5mm Brass sheet
0.9mm sterling silver sheet

time: A shitload.
(it would probably take me two and a half days if i had the time to make one straight, but i had to work on this in bits during the week. It got tedious and boring cutting the bits out, i ran out of 3 size sawblades and had to use 2, which sucked. not to mention drawing them in the first place was skjvbdlksb.)

anyway. I'm still considering the slight maybe possibility of making a limited number of commissions of this necklace (when i say limited i mean 2 ) for sale.
I'm not entiiiiirely sure. If i do, it will be in the holidays, which is still 8 weeks away (not including mid semester break which is one week)

If i DO end up making these special commissions, they will be probably in the range of $60-$70, because they just take so much time and effort even though the materials aren't too expensive (and thats only cause the brass is cheap and the silver i have i got free, but im not making any of the links in copper cause it's too soft)

Anywho. When i get to a time when i HAVE the time for such an endevour, i will let you know if interest is expressed.

Only three of these official Lc pieces could be worth something when i become a famous designer some day (a.k.a when im dead )

btw there's no pictures of it on me cause i forgot to do that. My bad. It sits ok, but it prickled a bit cause i didn't have time to propperly file the sharp edges.
